As a RealGoods.com affiliate, your website will be linked to one of the world’s leading solar energy and renewable energy companies, and you will earn commission on qualifying referral sales.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It’s totally free to join and you can cancel at any time.
How does it work?
An affiliate program works by having you place promotional links to us on your website, and when customers follow our link and make a purchase, you get a referral commission.
How often do I get paid?
Once monthly through our third-party affiliate partner, LinkShare.
Is my website eligible to become a RealGoods.com affiliate?
Most sites will qualify to participate in the program. Anyone may submit an application, but we do reserve the right to refuse membership to a site or revoke a site’s membership at any time if deem it contains objectionable material, including pornography, explicit language or content, or support for discriminatory groups.
Can I take orders on my site and send the information to RealGoods.com?
No, RealGoods.com will process all orders directly.
What happens when a product is returned?
If a user returns a product for a refund, or if credit card charges are reversed due to a dispute or credit card fraud, your account will be debited for any commission earned on that transaction.
Who processes orders and handles customer service?
RealGoods.com will process all orders and provide customer service for all the visitors you refer to our site. All you have to do is place links to us on your website, and we do the rest!
How will you know orders come from my website?
All links from your site to RealGoods.com contain a unique identifier that links all activity back to your site ID. Every time a customer comes to RealGoods.com via your site and makes a purchase we know to credit your site. To make sure all purchases are tracked correctly, all links must be created with the tag generator through the LinkShare interface.
I don’t live in the U.S. Can I still be a Gaiam affiliate?
Yes, as long as you receive traffic from US visitors. At this time, we cannot ship to international addresses outside of the US and Canada.
Do I have sales quotas?
No, we don’t require any of our affiliates to meet sales quotas.
I operate more than one website. Can I still be an affiliate?
Yes. You can have multiple sites as an affiliate. You can create links specifically for each site and generate separate reports for each site. You will receive one commission check for all sites.
What are my responsibilities as a RealGoods.com affiliate?
The only thing you are responsible for is using the generator on the LinkShare interface to place approved links on your site.
What are RealGoods.com's responsibilities?
Real Goods will provide you with the tools and support you need to maximize sales through your site. We also handle orders, shipping, billing, and customer service for all customers you send us.
Will you promote my website?
No, we currently don’t promote affiliate websites.
How many return days (Cookie duration) are there?
Our return days are currently set at 15. This means that after 15 days of a visitor clicking on our link through your website and purchasing one of our products, you will no longer make a commission off their purchase.
