Ha Dong, a village in Vietnam's Ha Tay region, has been producing exquisite silk for over two thousand years. Using tradtional methods, small groups of rural poor - usually families and women - spin, weave and dye the silk thread by hand. The artists then hand-sew the fabric into beautiful quilts and other accessories. Buying these products helps the artisans directly, creating sustainable development in exceptionally poor rural Vietnamese communities.
