HaloTech ™ watches are an exciting combination of 19th century art and 21st century technology. The Sun Stone design celebrates the ancient Aztec Stone of the Sun. Scholars have long debated the stone's meaning and purpose. A variety of purposes have been suggested: History book, Calendar or a graphic representation of the cosmos. The back of the watch is engraved with the image of Tonatum – the Aztec “face of the Sun” and inscribed with the quote “Opposing Forces compete for Power – Balancing the Universe"; Reflecting the Aztec belief that the world would end without the constant battle of opposing forces. The unique dial, made in England, is inspired by the fascinating 19th century art form of Lithophanes - Carved porcelain sheets that, when held to light, deliver astoundingly detailed images. Not easy to execute and requiring a high order of artistry, Lithophanes are brilliant art pieces. HaloTech ™ watches are modern Lithophane reproductions.
