These units even have an extra AUX connection available to keep a generator starter battery topped off with a 100mA 13.8 trickle charge.
The BZ 250 accepts up to 250 watts of solar or about 25 amps. It also comes with a low voltage disconnect (LVD) which will automatically shut off a load if the batteries’ charge drops below 12 volts and reconnects at 12.6 volts. Max direct load via LVD is 15A. However, the 250 does not come with an enclosed casing. By default, this unit is meant to be flush mounted into a wall. The casing is available as an additional accessory though if desired.
The BZ 500 will accept up to 500 watts of solar or about 45 amps. Oddly enough though, this particular unit does not come with LVD.
Both units have a PWM float charge is set at 14.1 volts (perfect for lead-acid batteries) and is adjustable from 13 to 15 volts. ATC-type automotive fuses supplied on the input and output.
