From the world s most experienced utility-intertie inverter manufacturer. SMA is a high-quality German manufacturer with more than 80,000 utility intertie inverters in service since 1996. The direct-intertie Sunny Boy series is a third-generation design. These are high-voltage input inverters that use series-strings of PV modules. This eliminates the need for large wire and greatly eases long-distance Sunnv Bov 2500 transmission. Maximum power point tracking delivers the highest possible wattage under all conditions. All Sunny Boy inverters feature powder-coated, stainless steel, outdoor-rated NEMA 4 cases that can be mounted inside or outside, and will deliver full-power operation at temperatures up to 60°C 140°F. Ground-fault protection is built into each inverter, and five-year warranties are standard.
Sunny Boy offers several closely related models at 700, 1,100, 1,800 and 2,500 (pictured) watts. All models feature the best of high-quality German engineering. High-efficiency, redundant processors, easy data communications, maximum power point tracking, an excellent reliability record, and powder-coated, stainless steel, outdoor-rated boxes are only a few of the quality design features. Sunny Boy inverters require high-voltage series-strings of PV modules. The number of modules varies with inverter model, PV modules used, climate in which they'll be installed, and the owner's budget and/or output requirements. Smaller inverters require shorter, lower-voltage PV strings. Bigger inverters require longer strings. Call for details.
All Sunny Boy installations need the hi-volt DC disconnect listed below. The lightning protection is optional, but highly recommended. All Sunny Boy inverters are warranted by the manufacturer for 5 years. Germany.
