A 500-amp shunt is required for most meters, monitors and power panels (Xantrex and Outback power centers, monitors and panels already have a wired-in shunt). 500-amp shunt reads to 1,000 amps in 0.1 increments. We strongly recommend purchasing the versions with the shunt included. At least two wires to the shunt must be a twisted pair. USA.
