Delivers pre-warmed water to your water heater to lighten its load. No pumps, sensors, controls or other moving parts that can fail. This passive batch-type heater is one of the simplest, yet most durable water heaters we've seen. Plumbed inline ahead of your conventional water heater's inlet, it will preheat all incoming water.
The collector has six-inch copper pipes with a high-tech coating that's better at absorbing than radiating heat. There are no rusting components. The dual glazing has tempered solar glass on the outside, and lightweight, non-yellowing or degrading Teflon film on the inside. High temperature foam board insulation is used on all sides.
Flush or tilt mounts hold the collector off the roof for leaves and drainage. Two-way valve kit lets you choose solar assist or backup-alone operation, includes: two drain valves; 150 psi pressure relief valve; and anti-scald valve. USA.

Available in 30-, 40-, and 50-gallon sizes, FSEC-rated at 22,100, 28,400, and 28,700 BTU per day, respectively.
The 30, 40, or 50 gallon sizes are produced by varying the number of collector pipes inside. 30-gallon unit is 3 Ft.L x 8 Ft.W, the 40- and 50-gallon units are 4 Ft.L x 8 Ft.W.
Mounting hardware not included; available separately. The Valve Kit includes hard-to-find-locally hardware.
ProgressivTube has a ten year warranty. All labor, transportation, and parts are covered for the first five years and parts only for the second five years.
An overnight freeze won't threaten this heater, but three to four days of temps in the 20s would. Supply and return plumbing is much more vulnerable. Plumbing runs need to be short and well-insulated, and/or you need to be prepared and willing to drain the system seasonally.
