The first is an oxygen-depletion sensing system that provides continuous monitoring for carbon monoxide, emission control through automatic fan-speed adjustment, and system shutoff, if necessary.
The second safety feature is a film-type heat-sensing system that will detect excessively high temperatures at any location around the combustion chamber. These power-vented heaters feature electronic ignition (no standing pilot light), an 84% energy rating, scale-buildup warning system and freeze protection down to -30°F. Both units come with wall-mount hardware, draft-backflow preventer, relief valve and a digital, water-resistant remote control. The indoor unit also comes with a 10-foot 120V AC power cord and a washable air filter. Optional additional remote controllers are available (main and additional bath).
